FACT's Collaboration Programme is beginning a major new three-year programme of events and presentations using the city's Bold Street as inspiration, subject, venue and metaphor. As one of the most important and historical streets in the city, Bold Street has a vast and rich story to tell. Its future looks uncertain as the Grosvenor project is drawing business to the other side of the city, suggesting it has passed its peak; deep in contrast with its past when Bold Street was regarded as the Bond Street of the North notorious for its wealthy clientele.
The Bold Street Project
tenantspin will launch the programme with a new commission in the Media Lounge in June. The Bold Street Project is a collaboration between FACT, tenantspin, and artists Michelle Wren and Katie Lips.
Liverpool photographer and artist Michelle Wren has created a
visual representation of Bold Street; a model using 3D photo-montage and mixed media. Community generated content developed by
tenantspin and online content developed by Social Media artist Katie Lips will be integrated into the model, and used as a catalyst to
extend the piece online. The piece will be an immersive, eclectic and interactive representation of Bold Street through the ages and
through the eyes of its community and audience.
