Hi,

The factory of S J Waring & Sons was situated in Liverpool's Bold Street and I would like to know if it is still there, which I doubt, and if not when and how it all ended and what it is now.

My interest arises from the fact that one of my fathres favourite posessions is an old desk, acquired in a Peterborough antique shop; inside one of the drawers is a small brass plaque with the legend: By appointment to the King. Waring & Gillow Ltd. Guaranteed manufactured at their Liverpool factory. It is not worth a lot but we are interested in its general provenance.

Does anyone know any more about the factory?

Thanks

Nikki.
